Matthew Kent
Chairman
Matthew is the Chairman of Sigma Broking Group, having founded the company in 2008. He started his career on the London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange (LIFFE) and has 25 years of experience in Futures/Options covering all areas, including back-office, trading and broking. He has worked across a range of financial companies, from HSBC to trading independently to founding Sigma in 2008.
Tris Simmonds
CEO
Tris joined Sigma as Group CEO in 2026 bringing over 35 years of experience in the commodities market and proven expertise in operational leadership, governance and strategy. Tris served as Group COO for Braemar PLC where he lead operational transformation, M&A execution and integration, and global platform growth. Other former leadership positions include founding and managing Atlantic Brokers (later acquired by Braemar),and heading the European Commodities division at GFI Group. Tris’ experience in scaling businesses and delivering shareholder value in listed and private environments is invaluable for Sigma.
Kevin Costello
Executive Director
Kevin joined Sigma as a Non-Executive Director in April 2017 later serving as Interim CEO for a period between 2025 and 2026. He started within the broking industry as a Swiss Deposit broker and from 1980 – 1992 held a number of roles within Currency Deposits before taking the role as MD, Deposit, FX and OBS at Prebon Yamane (UK) Limited in 1992. Kevin took on the role as UK CEO of Prebon Yamane and then CEO of Prebon Yamane EMEA from 1993 to 2000. His broad knowledge and experience of the financial services industry provides important insights for the Board.
Sean Pereira
Director and Group CFO
Sean is a chartered accountant and CFA charter holder with over 25 years’ experience in the Financial Services industry. He spent 16 years in investment banking, including significant spells at Morgan Stanley and Bank of America serving in senior positions, before serving as CFO in several private equity backed and owner-led Financial Services firms over the last 9 years. This included holding the position of Group CFO at JB Drax Honore Limited, a Global Brokerage firm.
Sean joined Sigma in September 2025 as both CFO and Executive Director of Sigma’s UK entity and provides strategic and operational leadership for the group’s operations.
Lorraine Barclay
Independent Non-Executive Director
Lorraine has over 30 years’ experience in financial services with a focus on delivering complex operations and transformational change and growth. During her career Ms. Barclay’s roles have included Group Financial Controller and Head of Global Business Services at ICAP PLC, Chief Administrative Officer for the CME Group, Inc., head of Finance Transformation at the Bank of England. She is currently a Group Director, Finance Operations, Procurement and Control at ARUP.
